Tonight’s the Night: Lunar Eclipse Time

That rare event is doubly special tonight, as the Winter Solstice joins with a Lunar Eclipse starting at about 1 a.m. tonight on the East Coast.  I’ll be staying up to watch and suggest you do as well.

It should be noted that not a whole lot happens in a lunar eclipse, even a total one on the solstice.  As such, NdGT twittered today that one might be better off just watching the below.

Me? I want to see the blood red (OK, orange) moon.
