Photos: Snow in the City
Saturday through Sunday, New York was pelted with about a foot of snow. We escaped with a lot less damage done than DC and even parts of the metropolitan region, but a good snow always can be fun. Attached are some photos I took on my way to and back from the gym on Saturday and Sunday.

The first two images were taken with my Blackberry. The remaining four were shot with my Canon Powershot.

The Citigroup building was barely visible in the snow. This photo was taken at its base with my Blackberry.

Just after noon the snow stopped and life in Manhattan returned to some normalcy. Visible left is the infamous, frozen and snow-caked garbage piles that will be there for a couple of days until sanitation moves from street clearing to its normal duties.

Third Avenue, always busy with traffic, is a self clearing street with now snow accumulating. The same cannot be said for most sidestreets.

The Fire Department is extra busy on any severe weather incidents. Here a truck greets me as I hop out of the gym.
